The story is loosely inspired by some of the events in the true life story of a teenage girl named Noura Hammad from Sudan, who is scheduled to death in her own country for self-defence after she killed a forced arranged marriage husband who was organised for her by her father against her own will, who was trying to rape her after he succeeded on previous occasion. The plot uses the injustices of a teenage girl LOULA suffers as an ice-breaker in order to provide an historical context of the global phenomenon of women and young girl’s oppression and abuse in the hands of patriarchal system represented by husbands, brothers, fathers, uncles and other men.
