PACOFS USES CONTEMPORARY DANCE TO BREAK THE SILENCE ON ABUSE AND INJUSTICE
The Performing Arts Centre of the Free State (PACOFS) presents Silenced (Ho Khutsisoa), a powerful contemporary dance theatre production that confronts some of society’s most difficult and urgent issues, including rape, abuse, inequality, human rights, justice and freedom.
Through movement, physical expression and storytelling, Silenced (Ho Khutsisoa) gives a voice to experiences that are often ignored, hidden or left unspoken. The production challenges audiences to reflect on the realities faced by marginalised communities and encourages meaningful conversations about the importance of speaking out against abuse and injustice.
With its central message, “Break the Silence,” the production uses contemporary dance as a powerful form of communication. It demonstrates how the body can tell stories of pain, resilience, oppression and hope without relying solely on spoken words.
