Bloemfontein get ready, Hae Lapeng Concert is Back (30 March 2024)
PACOFS is an Agency of the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture (DSAC) and its role as playhouse that presents creative works that are a cross between cutting-edge story lines/ robust and out of the box artistic concepts by artists who are; the unknown- the soon to be known- and the well-known.
Here again after a successful launch in 2023, Hae Lapeng Concert is back as a melting pot of bigger and better artistic offerings. The production-concert aims to bring nostalgic sense to the audiences who miss the essence of being at home (HAE) when at PACOFS. A proud flagship concert conceptualized and directed by the Artistic Director – Napo Masheane, a seasoned theatre-maker, playwright, poet, and producer. Hae Lapeng Concert like the feeling of being home holds a special place in the hearts of audiences and allows them to eat out of the melting pot of diverse talents of National and International practitioners.
More so, the Hae Lapeng Concert will show different teasers of all the shows/productions that took place in the last financial year while setting a good premise for all the upcoming multidisciplinary performances ranging from: Music, Dance to Drama and Spoken Word.
This year the concert aims to build on the high standard of last year with an industrial-picture frame theme and a more classical look that promises to leave the audience wanting more. The 2024 line-up consist of our very own Presss who is known for some of his hit songs, one being Thojana Ya Thesele. We look forward again to being graced by Tamara Dey, the First Lady of Kwaito, and our two international acts; Jeniffer Johns and Damon Turner, who are prolific African American all rounded-artists and music producers. While the Musica Direction will be championed by Bondo and choreography by Zane Muller, both amazing voices that represents pure home-ground talent of Free State. Some of the featured plays will be Elelloang starring Didie Makobane, and Woza Albert by two legends Ntokozo Dlamini (Deep City) and Thulani Ntshweni (Gomora) to name but few.
