PACOFS Chief Executive Officer Contract Update
Wednesday 14 January 2025, Bloemfontein – The Performing Arts Centre of the Free State
(PACOFS) wishes to announce that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Themba TC Dlamini’s
fixed-term contract comes to an end on 26 January 2026. Mr Dlamini was appointed as CEO
on 1 November 2022 and has since provided steady leadership during a period of transition for
the institution.
During his tenure and working alongside the PACOFS Council, Mr Dlamini was charged with
strengthening governance processes, stabilising operations, and advancing its public mandate
within a constrained fiscal environment, a responsibility he took to with admirable fervor.
The PACOFS Council wishes to acknowledge Mr Dlamini‘s contribution and service to PACOFS
and the broader performing arts sector and wishes to re-affirm its commitment to the institution
and to public cultural infrastructure in the Free State. To this end, Ms Gabisile Simelane the
current Chief Financial Officer (CFO) has been appointed to act in the role of CEO during the
recruitment process of a new CEO. A seasoned professional, Ms Simelane is a Chartered
Accountant [CA(SA)] with 13 years experience in the public sector, and will no doubt ensure
continuity of leadership and operations while the process to appoint a new CEO is undertaken
in line with applicable governance and legislative requirements.

delivery of high-quality artistic and cultural programmes.
